Öz

Bu çalışmanın amacı, yeşil kütüphanelerin sürdürülebilir kalkınma üzerindeki etkilerini incelemektir. Bu doğrultuda, çalışmada, 2024 yılında Uluslararası Kütüphane Dernekleri ve Kurumları Federasyonu (IFLA) tarafından “En İyi Büyük Ölçekli Yeşil Kütüphane” ödülüne layık görülen projeler ele alınarak, bu projelerin Sürdürülebilir Kalkınma Amaçları (SKA) kapsamında olası katkıları değerlendirilmiştir. Nitel araştırma deseninde gerçekleştirilen çalışmada, ödül kazanan kütüphanelerin web siteleri ve projelere dair raporlar içerik analiziyle incelenmiştir. Projeler, çevresel, toplumsal ve ekonomik sürdürülebilirlik açısından kapsamlı bir şekilde değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular, yeşil kütüphanelerin yalnızca bilgiye erişim merkezleri olmakla kalmayıp, aynı zamanda çevresel farkındalığı artırma, toplumsal gelişimi destekleme ve ekonomik fayda sağlama gibi alanlarda da stratejik bir rol üstlendiğini ortaya koymaktadır. Çalışmanın teorik katkısı, yeşil kütüphanelerin SKA ile ilişkisini sistematik bir şekilde inceleyerek, bu alandaki literatüre yeni bir bakış açısı kazandırmasıdır. Pratik katkısı ise, uluslararası ödüllü yeşil kütüphane projelerinin sürdürülebilirlik açısından çok boyutlu bir değerlendirmesini sunarak, gelecekteki projelerin daha etkili bir şekilde uygulanmasına yönelik somut öneriler geliştirmesidir.
