Abstract

With the beginning of the digital transformation process, ordinary information services’ current structure and presentation formats have been moved to a different dimension. The diversity of information carriers and the easy access of people to such devices have rendered traditional information services inadequate and forced service providers to produce different solutions. This situation has caused a necessary change in information services in super-intelligent societies that are tried to be created with human-robot cooperation. The concept of Society 5.0 aims to increase the welfare level of society and to produce technology-based solutions to social problems by making use of the opportunities offered by technology. Society 5.0 is an equivalent word that corresponds to the expression “super smart society” and is used with this meaning in the scope of the study. The study, it is aimed to follow the technological developments, whose shelf life is quickly exhausted, together with the global agenda, and to raise awareness for the renewal of the services offered in the information centers in line with these developments. The study includes the Society 5.0 project, the effects of the digital transformation process, and information services in super-smart societies.

Keywords: Society 5.0, sustainable development, internet of things, information services, future librarians
