Abstract
In this study on-the -job training requirement of the archivists who work in archives is analysed. The purpose of the study is to show why the archivists require on-the-job tranining,what are the dimension and features of this requirement and what kind of offering they would want. The research is done in five different archives by benefiting from the opinions of the graduates from information and document management department. The opinions of graduates are taken by questionnaires. In the research, important data abaout many topics were collected and it is seen that most archivists need on-the-job training.
