Abstract
On the occasion of the 75th Anniversary c;f Turkish Republic, an analysis was made on children's books, published between 1923-1998. This quantitative analysis includes: total and yearly number of published children's books, its comparison with similar countries; comparison of various kinds ; number of original and translated titles; development stage; neglected kinds. In conclusion, it was determined that there seems to be a development quality-wise, but not so much in quantity. Especially, some kinds are still very low in publication.
