The Aff ect of Information Communication Technologies Towards Reading Attitudes

This study was verified to define whether second level of primary school students’ reading attitude change when the students have or use ICT. The relational survey model was used in this research. The population of this study is 6540 6th, 7th and 8th grade students in Kırşehir. 959 students constitute the sample of research as we consider hard of to reach all of the population and %3 deviation. The data was collected in spring semester of 2011-2012. Firstly we completed process of scale’s validity and reliability and then the scale of reading attitude was applied 12 primary school and 44 classes The Scale of Second Level Primary School’s Student Reading Attitude that developed by Özbay and Uyar (2009) was used in this study. When data was processed SPSS 15 and Lisrel 8.80 was used. The results showed that if the students use and have modern ICT their reading attitudes become low level. On the other hand if the students follow and read newspaper, magazines their reading attitudes become high level.
