Information World: From a Thought to a Scientific Journal (1998-2013)

Abstract

Two professional and scholarly journals containing original and review articles in the field of librarianship and information management are published in Turkey. Bilgi Dünyası, which is one of these journals, was started its preparatory studies as a refereed journal in 1998 with the idea of fulfilling a need in this field. In this article, the important stages of publishing this journal during the first fifteen years covering its development and dissemination are summarized. In addition, the editor and associate editor working in the same period of the journal provided suggestions along with their studies, personal experiences and difficulties about scientific publishing.
