Abstract

Public relations is the sum of all activities of an institution to gain in a permanent way the trust, sympathy and support of target mass. The objective of the public relations department in the libraries is to make people to gain positive opinions on the library. Determining the situation of the public relations effort at the university library and creating the solutions for the problems and developing the ways and means of the public relations work are very important. This study aims to clarify the opinions of the Başkent University Library users about public relations efforts of the library. The study is conducted on 200 respondents who are academic staff and students of the Başkent University and also the users of library. In the study, there are also observations about the activities of the Başkent University Library on public relations. Conclusively seems that the public relations activities of the Başkent University Library are partially sufficient.
